Akira is the instructor at a local karate dojo and sushi chef, voiced by Star Trek alumnis George Takei ("Hikaru Sulu"). Helped Homer figure out that "Mr. Sparkle" was the logo of a Japanese lightbulb/fish products corporation. Essentially a parody of the Japanese archetype. He is rumored to be a small tribute Matt Groening inserted for both Akira Kurosawa and the famed anime Akira.
